Busy

Sorry for the lack of updates; work has actually been busy the past few days, so I haven't had time to write anything.

Anyway, I've just about finished up the audio for the "Rock Zombie" section of the Hondance screening. There is a small bit of music that I need to record, but nothing big. The audio in "Rock Zombie" was probably the worst out of all three sections, mainly because we were still getting used to the equipment; Stachurski was learning how to use the boom pole, and I was still trying to figure out where to set the levels for optimum quality. As a result, in one scene the audio was too low, and there was a bunch of hiss when I turned it up. I used Sonic Foundry's (they're now owned by Sony) Noise Reduction tool to clean this up; it seems to do a great job of removing hiss without affecting the dialogue too much. In another scene, the levels were too high, and the dialogue distorts in places. To fix this I used Sonic Foundry's/Sony's Clipped Peak Restoration tool, which rounds off distorted peaks, and does a pretty good job of reducing distortion, although it rarely eliminates it entirely.

Tomorrow evening I'll begin working on the "Corporate Zombie" audio. Tonight nothing will get done because I'm playing drums for The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad at the Mojo Room!
