MILZ Sound Done!

I finished up the sound for Mother In Law Zombie on Sunday night, and then went back and checked it on the monitors last night. Everything seems to have turned out pretty well, and I'm happy with the whole plate throwing, kung fu, Rambo sequence.

Tonight I'll start working on the sound for Rock Zombie, which shouldn't be too awful. Not many sound fx in that segment, which is nice. Unfortunately, it was also the first segment we filmed, and I was still learning how to use the audio equipment, so I'm sure the quality isn't quite as good as the other two segments. But hopefully after I'm done with it, nobody will be able to tell the difference.

Still haven't heard back from The Charles about the premiere. Armando Vaille is going to help out with this, too (thanks, Armando!), since he knows some people there. It would be nice to be able to get this worked out quickly so that we can start preparing the publicity materials.

Speaking of publicity materials, the photo shoot for the poster on Saturday turned out really well. It took about two hours to get Steve into makeup (Tracey did a great job, as usual), and about an hour for me to get the lights setup just right. Everything looked great, though, and we were also able to get some funny candid shots of Billy Jump doing various things around the house and yard.

I spent a while yesterday gathering addresses and phone numbers of all the newspapers and radio stations in the Baltimore area, including those at the local colleges. We're planning on having the press screening on September 17th, and will be inviting pretty much anyone who might be able to give us a write-up, review, or interview. The more press we get, the better off we'll be, both for selling out The Patterson and The Charles, and also for getting plenty of clippings and quotes for distributors and festivals.

The music thing is not working out quite as planned. Stay tuned for more news about that....
